The Commitment & Investment by ESP
ESP’s custom database is the result of extensive investment in time, expertise, and industry knowledge using the Accubid product suite. We've expanded on Accubid’s original database of 10,000 assemblies to create a highly efficient and scalable custom Accubid/ESP database on our Estimating Cloud Platform.
This platform, built to Code, now features over 1.6 million assemblies. This vast resource increases both the power and speed of estimating by allowing users to select from lists rather than creating temporary or missing assemblies. Clients have experienced a doubling of speed in completing bids when using ESP’s custom database combined with Accubid’s LiveCount takeoff software.

At a company once owned by Phil George, I may have personally estimated a billion dollars in projects in a 25 year career. Today, ESP's clients collectively estimate over a billion dollars every 12 months.
I participated in a lot of changes and a lot of growth in those 25 years. I remember when Bill Crarer, president at that time, flew in from Calgary to help close our very first million-dollar project. Years later Brad Armstrong would take Phil George's company public. I became the second Canadian to gain Gold Seal Certification in the field as Estimator Electrical Contracting. In time, we would close an $85 million dollar project under the guidance of my manager, Knud Mortenson, and a handful of other experts in the field. None of this would have been possible without years of work spent building a team that shared knowledge.
I have read the Code Book many times, taken numerous courses, dealt with dozens of suppliers, answered to the financials, assisted Project Managers and Site Superintendents, mentored multiple estimators, and been led by many more.
Everyone's role is important. The estimate is what integrates them.
As the senior architect and designer of ESP’s database, the ESP Cloud Platform brings clarity to everyone that participates in the project cycle. Through years of knowledge and experience creating systems and best practices for Accubid software users, ESP's Cloud Platform has helped many companies, big and small… measure their progress.
